Cannabis Helps with MRSA
Scientists have discovered the effectiveness of cannabis against MRSA.
Cannabigerol fights bacteria
MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) can cause sepsis and pneumonia, which are difficult to treat and cause severe side effects. One of the cannabinoids – found mainly in Cannabis Sativa – cannabigerol is part of marijuana effectively fighting these bacteria. This is confirmed by the studies of scientists - immunologists from the Canadian University of McMaster as part of the Maya Farha group.
A group of scientists conducted experiments on mice. As a result, it turned out that cannabigerol successfully eliminates the cells and biofilms that form the MRSA bacteria, and also prevents the emergence of new biofilms.
MRSA bacteria are resistant to most antibiotics, even the strongest ones.
